Welcome to the Global Youth Network for Empowerment and Development (GYNED) website! As the founder of this vibrant and impactful organization, I am honored to share our mission and vision for the welfare, rights, empowerment, and development of youth and young people in Sierra Leone.
Since our establishment in 2012, GYNED has passionately advocated for positive change and addressed the pressing issues faced by young individuals, especially women, girls, and persons living with disabilities. We envision a future where every young person, regardless of gender, tribe, or race, has equal access to opportunities and is empowered to become a leader in national sustainable development. Our goal is to build a society where violence, exclusion, deprivation, and fear do not hinder our young generation’s potential.
Our Commitment and Recognition
GYNED is a legally registered and fully operational organization recognized by esteemed institutions such as the Sierra Leone Association of Non-Governmental Organizations, the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, the Ministry of Youth Affairs, the National Youth Commission, and the Corporate Affairs Commission. This recognition underscores our commitment to professionalism and adherence to high standards of service delivery.
Nation-wide Impact
With a nationwide presence and a strong network of district youth volunteers, representatives, and member organizations spanning all 16 districts of Sierra Leone, GYNED is making a meaningful impact. Our focus is on supporting and empowering youth, young women, and other vulnerable and minority groups, ensuring they have the resources, skills, and opportunities necessary to thrive.
